The following information has been provided to assist you in locating answers to your questions in a timely manner. After years of being in practice, my staff and I have taken this opportunity to answer most of the questions we are regularly asked to try to save you time. Do You Only Provide Group Therapy? No, Dr. Berk has limited space for individuals and families in therapy. However group members are given first preference.

How can I contact the Office? For routine calls, please contact the office at 216-292-7170. Listen to the voicemail prompts. For more urgent needs, please call 216-292-4681 or use this same number to change/cancel an appointment.

Should I Contact My Health Insurance Company? Yes, if you plan to use insurance. Be sure to spell BERK correctly if you are seeking authorization

What is Unique About Your Practice We strive for a very personal approach to every client. Group, individual, and family therapy is offered.

Will You Work With The School For My Son or Daughter? Yes, in general Dr. Berk does conduct school planning meetings. We also have an expert, Ms. Alice Morgan who works with Dr. Berk for school planning including IEP, 504, and behavior plans. If a child/adolescent needs placement in a specialized school outside of Cleveland, Dr. Andy Erkis is also a member of our staff. (Please see the tab for educational consulting for more information about Alice Morgan and Dr. Andy Erkis.) Please be advised that school meeting are generally not covered by health insurance.

What Is The Cancellation Policy? If you cannot make a scheduled appointment, please provide us sufficient time to reschedule you or allow another individual to take the time available. Appointments not cancelled 24 hours in advance are subject to being billed. This time is reserved for you. Thank you for you cooperation with this policy. Cancellations cannot be made by e-mail as we do not pick up e-mail regularly enough to do so. All phone messages for cancellations must be left in the voicemail for Dr. Berk ext. 4 only!

What If I Have An Urgent/Emergency Need? Call 216-292-7170, push zero, wait for the answering service and ask them to page Dr. Berk. If appropriate call 911 or go to the hospital.
